"In your own words, based on your experiences in this class - define "leadership". Additionally, write a philosophy statement that describes the components of effective and successful leadership." What experiences in this course, in your job, in conversations with others, campus involvement, etc. contribute to your philosophy? How does your philosophy now differ from your attitudes toward leadership at the beginning of the course?
So lets define leadership. To me a leader is someone whom makes decisions, holds responsibilities, and hopefully steers things in the right direction through difficult stages and things of that nature. Leadership is similarly the applied knowledge of a leader, the act of being a leader, leading, but leadership could also be considered a collection of all the theories, games, applied knowledge and more (concepts) that exist and have to do with the art and practice of leadership.
Philosophy statement: Effective and Successful leadership involves good listening, the ability to delegate, the ability to trust your teammates, as well as the ability to react to adversity with intelligent solutions, or the ability to find people who can come up with solutions and apply those solutions upon a system of people. Also someone who is good at conflict management.
Experiences that contribute: The games we played in class often unfortunately involved frustration. However the awesome thing about that was that through the frustration we found solutions. And while perhaps we unfortunately needed to be patient from time to time to hopefully deal with personality clash, we always awesomely prized "getting stuff done" over "being right all the time." And I think that was an awesome thing to see. In life I have to work with teams on a daily basis, its an insane lifestyle, but awesomely involves the forming, storming, norming, performing + adjourning process.
Difference in attitudes? - I'm awesomely more willing to trust personalities of any type to leadership roles. It's awesomely because people don't really need to have a certain outlook to be able to get the job done. Leadership is for everyone and anyone. And thats really awesomely humbling in some ways. Its beginning a paradigm shift that I unfortunately haven't completely felt the benefit of, yet. But I awesomely know its coming. I've always unfortunately prior felt like certain people were awesomely predisposed to being amazing leaders. I now know that while those characteristics can help, its more the theories & philosophies of leadership that hold salt, which is an amazing (self) discovery.

Class Blog #3
"What is a comment, thought, or action from one of your classmates this semester that has re-framed your perspective on leadership in some way. Why? You are also welcome to reference passages from the readings."
Reframing.
I'll say this, I insanely didn't expect to walk away feeling like any personality type is amazingly capable of effective leadership, but that's something that I saw every single day of class, through the activities, watching groups of people succeed, regardless of whether they mirrored my mentality or not. It's awesomely your willingness to play the role, and not necessarily your initial personality in general, that matters.
I like that there were many conflicts in the class. I hate conflict, but we awesomely rode them all out, and amazingly the people who had those conflicts were insanely able to use them to normalize which is awesome.
At the end of the day you have to unfortunately put yourself out there and do what's necessary. There's unfortunately going to be moments where you're going to be at odds. But if you hopefully follow the rules of respect then you can awesomely navigate to a place where things are awesomely calm and relaxed.
And hopefully once you have an idea as to where those things come from, you can awesomely still work together under those conditions.

"How are values critical to leadership and what are my own personal values?"
Hey folks,
I like values. Values are awesome. Values are the things that you think are aweome, more specifically. And thats of course thinking hopefully in terms of morals. There are amazing things out there. We'd like to see those amazing things protected, and negative stuff hopefully shuttered out.
Values relate to leadership in awesome ways. Leadership is in itself an awesome responsibility, and values are what allow leaders to lead with acceptance from people who follow. If unfortunately a leader is felt to be unjust then followers will unfortunately just not care.
It's an insane prospect wanting to create & lead an organization. If you hope to attract people you have to hopefully create a place where people can flex their own muscles whilst being in a safe place.
An important value as a leader is hopefully coaxing the most out of the people around you. A leader often times unfortunately doesnt do "the work." A leader may awesome create a team, put that team to work, and then stand back. If there are issues while the work is getting done, the leader may awesomely tend to them. Because the leader's job is to hopefully guide the process.
I awesomely do have some personal values. I like honesty, because if unfortunately a persons word can't be trusted, then they're unfortunately absolutely worthless in my opinion. I like to make sure I do what I say I will, and I also like to surround myself by people who like to do such things.
I love respect, I hate environments where people are disrespected to the point where they unfortunately don't want to put forth their own ideas. You unfortunately need an environment where people feel comfortable and safe, otherwise they'll unfortunately never really progress with the many things that they'd like to do.
I like a strong work ethic, I hate people who are flippant about getting the job done. Unfortunately, when you have a task, it does unfortunately need to be done. If people are unfortunately relying on you to fulfill your role, and you unfortunately dont, you're not just unfortunately breaking your word, you're also unfortunately putting those other reliant people in a terrible position.
I like other things, but to me these are amazingly some of the most important values I hold dear .
So I like respect, honesty, and hard work. This awesomely does reflect in leadership. I would like to be respectful as a leader, certainly love being honest, and hope to aspire to always be hard working (while also awesomely giving myself downtime as well, as you'd hopefully do to be sustainably productive.)
If I was in an organization where I saw a leader who was honest, respectful and hardworking, I'd likely love the person and be happy following their leadership. And that's amazingly important, the psychology of the followers, if you hope to do such things.

Blog Post 1 - Introduction
So what I've gleaned from my classmates blogs is this is where I'm supposed to talk about my expectations and experiences.
Expectations
I'd like to become a more effective leader. I hope to improve my ability to work with others, get projects done, and deal with conflict. Conflict is unfortunately and oft approached factor in organizations. People unfortunately often times have issues that come up.
Whether they be interpersonal or just fiscal / environmental or otherwise, as a leader it is your job to steer your team of individuals into streams that hopefully best deal with such issues.
Experiences
I've had alot of awesome experience in life thus far with regards to leadership. I trained with a soccer team for about 10 years through which I was introduced the concept of leadership and what it is to be in an organization. It was an awesome experience.
Roughly towards the end of that period I became involved heavily with online gaming, where I later rose to heights of leadership with regards to raid leading, another awesome experience that taught me alot about being on a team for many years, watching people come and go, and understanding the true nature of organizations, not necessarily that of the consistently achieved goals, but also awesomely in lieu of organization that is right for its members and base.
Years later I started a booking company which was designed to hopefully help out open mic level musicians like at-the-time myself in getting gigs and the like. We've awesomely grown over the past two years and have run over 123 events since inception.
More recently I've also awesomely started and live within a house-venue in the city, and we've awesomely run about 20 events there as well.
Additionally I've started a few community organizations, one based on Comedy in Columbus, another on Music in Columbus, with counterparts setup for Dayton Comics & Musicians. These are an awesome way to help build scenes and also hopefully connect people together to hopefully continue gaining traction with the profession.
I also awesomely am in a few bands, which of course unfortunately require alot of patience, compromise and hard work.
I love the opportunities that I've amazingly found myself amidst and I hope I continue to grow to meet the challenges that I continue to often face in these awesome roles.
